When my wife and I were in the market for a new home for our growing family, we must have looked at a dozen different homes. One of our favorite Sunday drives was to go out and look at new homes to see the latest and greatest features. Our existing home had sold much sooner than expected, so it was crunch time to make a decision. There was one home in particular that we just kept going back to over and over. There were so many reasons it just kept drawing us back to see it.
The home itself was perfect for our lifestyle. We have 2 sons, and we do a lot of entertaining, both with our boys friends and with ours. The immediate curb appeal of the winding sidewalk, with a centered brick planter catches your eye right away. When you walk through the front door into the foyer, there was an office for me on the right and an office for my wife on the left. This was a must in our decision making process. Once we entered the enormous living area, we found exactly what we were looking for. Wide open spaces all the way from the living area, through the dining area into the Chef’s kitchen, which is to die for. There was so much natural light coming into this area, it was incredible. The master suite also sold us on this home. Separate walk in closets for me and my wife, as well as our own toilet areas and vanities, separated by an enormous walk in shower, which is like a spa! There were 2 very nice sized bedrooms upstairs, along with an open bonus room, which my wife chose to use as her art studio. The additional guest room downstairs was also perfect, as it also had a large walk in shower. We spend most of our evenings on the screened in back porch that has a fireplace and old Chicago brick flooring. That spot is magic to us, as it looks out over our pool into the massive back yard that fills up with turkey and deer in the winter.
The quality of this home was unmistakable. The attention to detail was obvious. It is a very large home, but everyone that comes over, says it’s so homey and welcoming. We couldn’t have made a better choice in our home designed and built by Woody McCullough.
